A visit is not a compromise — it is a working advantage
Deep work changes muscle tone for several hours ahead. Everything that happens right after the session affects the result just as much as the work of the hands. At home there is nothing in that “right after” to spoil it.
After dense work on the back, the erector spinae (m. erector spinae) and quadratus lumborum (QL) hold an unusually low tone for a while. That is a normal phase, but in it the body holds its old posture badly and slips easily back into its habitual pattern. Forty minutes behind the wheel, on the metro or in a taxi with a bag over one shoulder, and the shoulders are lifted again and the lower back is locked again. With a visit that stretch simply does not exist: you get off the table and you stay where you are.
The second factor is temperature. Warmed tissue keeps its pliability longer, and in that state gentle work of your own — a few simple movements, a warm shower — gives more than the same movements would the next day. Stepping out into a cold street cuts that window short. At home you just pull a blanket over yourself.
The third is sleep. An evening slot at your address ends with you going to bed in your own bed twenty minutes after the session, rather than after an hour and a half of travel. For people who came in with chronic tension in the neck and the upper trapezius (m. trapezius, descending part), that is a noticeable difference in how the next morning feels.
And the fourth, less obvious one: at home you do not have to get ready. No choosing what to wear, no counting travel time, no sitting in someone else’s waiting chair with your shoulders up around your ears. The session starts from the state you actually live in — not from the one a trip across town has put you in.
- Zero travel after the session — the result is not undone by the journey home.
- Your body stays warm: no getting dressed and going outside while still heated.
- An evening slot ends in sleep, not in logistics.
- The same table, the same pressure and the same assessment as in the studio at Balmes 200.
Extended position, lying face down: latissimus dorsi, the glutes (mm. glutei) and the hamstrings. It is for access to these layers that the table goes up — a bed gives no such support.
- Latissimus dorsi (m. latissimus dorsi)
- Glutes (mm. glutei)
- Hamstrings (mm. ischiocrurales)
A visit step by step — from your message to the end of the session
Nothing here has to be guessed. Below is the whole order of events, including what happens before I arrive.
Request and address
You write to {{WHATSAPP}} or {{TELEGRAM}}, or call {{PHONE}}. I need the district, the floor and whether there is an elevator, plus a convenient window of time. I name the travel zone and the final sum right away — the sum does not change on your doorstep.
A short intake before I set out
Two or three questions: where it hurts, how long it has been going on, what you have already tried, whether you have diagnoses and medication. Massage is not medical care. If the answers involve acute pain, numbness, a shooting pain with loss of sensation or a fresh injury, I say so honestly: see a doctor first, the session can wait.
Arrival and setup
I arrive a few minutes before the start and set up the table — quietly and quickly. Shoes off, hands washed, and I make up a set of linens that is unsealed in front of you. The session clock starts after the setup, not when I ring the doorbell.
Assessment and the plan for today
I look at how you stand and how your trunk moves, and check a couple of simple movements. Then I say out loud what I am taking into work, in what order and why. One session properly covers one or two areas — not “the whole body, everything at once”.
The session
We work at a discomfort level of 6-7 out of 10: clearly felt, but you can still breathe. If your breathing breaks, I take the pressure down. Minimal conversation, dimmed light, no music. I keep the time on a silent timer, so you never have to look at a clock.
Afterwards
I fold the table and take the linens with me. You get a simple plan for the next day or two: water, warmth, no heavy training and no “finishing off” the areas we worked. Payment after the session. The next visit is worth discussing in a few days, once your body has answered.
What I bring, what I need from you and what you can forget about
A visit is arranged so that preparation takes you zero minutes. Here is the honest list from both sides.
What I bring with me
- A professional folding table 70 cm (28 in) wide with adjustable height — the firm support without which deep work turns into stroking.
- A set of fresh linens for every client: sheet, cover, pillowcase. Unsealed in front of you.
- Unscented, hypoallergenic oil. If you react to cosmetics, tell me in advance and I will bring a neutral base.
- Bolsters and cushions for the ankles, the abdomen and the chest: your position should be comfortable without any effort on your part.
- Disinfectant for hands and surfaces, a change of clothes, a clean towel for working purposes.
- A silent timer, so that nobody watches the clock or counts the minutes.
What I need from you
- A clear patch of floor of about 2 × 2.5 m — that is enough for the table and access from two sides. Any room will do, including a bedroom or a living room.
- A power outlet within 3 m if we use the table warmer or a lamp. We can work without one too, just tell me in advance.
- A glass of water — before the session and after. This is not about “flushing anything out”, you will simply feel better.
- Your own towel, if you want a shower afterwards.
- Quiet for 60-120 minutes: no calls, no television in the next room, no questions from the hallway.
- A heads-up about pets and about how the entrance door works — it saves us both a few minutes on the doorstep.
What you do not need to do
- Clean up specially. I need a patch of floor, not a tidy apartment.
- Prepare or find a table, a couch or an ironing board — everything is mine.
- Change in advance and wait for me “already prepared”. You undress exactly as far as the working area requires, and stay under the sheet.
- Put out your own linens or buy oil.
- Take a shower right before I arrive: hot water before a session is unnecessary, and afterwards it does more good.
- Endure pain to make it “work”. Pain above the working level does not speed up the result, it switches on protective tone.
Room plan: where the table goes
Drawn to scale: a metre is the same length on both axes. Nothing needs moving — the table goes on a clear patch of floor and everything else stays where it is.
On the plan
Hover over an item or tap it — it lights up on the plan.
The plans are example layouts, not requirements for your room. If you are unsure, send a photo of the room and I will tell you straight away whether we fit.
Travel zones and the surcharge
The travel surcharge depends on the zone alone — not on time spent in traffic and not on your floor. I name the exact sum before booking, together with a realistic arrival window.
Central Barcelona
Walking distance and predictable parking. No separate surcharge applies.
Nearby districts: Area Metropolitana de Barcelona
The base travel zone. The surcharge is fixed and identical for every address inside the zone.
Outer districts of Barcelona
I mostly take long sessions here: 90 or 120 minutes — that way the journey is justified for both of us.
Suburbs and addresses outside the city limits
I confirm the sum and the route in writing before booking. I need the exact address and a landmark for the entrance.
Hotels and apartments
Work in the room is agreed with reception. I can work in English. Details are in the section below.
If your address is not on the list, write to {{WHATSAPP}} or {{EMAIL}}. I will tell you honestly whether I can come. A no because of distance is not a no in general — I will offer you the studio at Balmes 200 instead.
Hotels, hygiene, boundaries and money
Four topics that are usually awkward to raise in a chat. I answer them in advance, and the same way for everyone.
Working in hotels
A hotel visit is a format of its own, not “the same as a home, only with a room key”. The rules of the venue matter more here than my preferences, so the order is as follows.
- Clearing it with reception. Most hotels want a visiting practitioner announced in advance. Ask the front desk to add my name (Ale) to the list of expected visitors — it removes any questions at the entrance and saves us both time.
- Quiet setup. The table goes up almost silently, with no drilling and without moving the hotel’s furniture. If the room is tight, I do part of the work with you seated — with no loss of quality for the neck and shoulders.
- Late hours. For guests who have just flown in, an evening or late slot is a normal thing to ask for. I work within 09:00–21:00; anything beyond that we agree the day before and charge at the {{PRICE_NIGHT}} rate.
- Charging it to the room. If you want to pay through the hotel and have it billed to your room, arrange that with the front desk in advance — not every venue processes it. If the hotel does not accept such a payment, we settle directly after the session.
- Language. With guests from abroad I work in English without any trouble: complaints, the pressure scale, contraindications and safety rules are explained in a language you understand, not in gestures.
In a hotel room the same layers are available as in the studio: the erector spinae, latissimus dorsi, trapezius and the glutes. The difference is in the logistics, not in the work.
- Trapezius (m. trapezius)
- Latissimus dorsi (m. latissimus dorsi)
- Erector spinae (m. erector spinae)
- Glutes (mm. glutei)
Hygiene and safety
- Linens are single-use or washed at high temperature, with a separate set for every client. Nothing is ever “wiped down and laid out again”.
- The table and the bolsters are cleaned after every visit; hands are disinfected before the session, after it and at any break.
- Nails cut short, jewellery off, working clothes changed on site.
- If I fall ill, I move the session myself, without you having to ask and without you losing the deposit. I ask the same of you in return.
- The oil is hypoallergenic and free of fragrance. The residue comes off with a towel — nothing is transferred to your linens or furniture.
When a session has to wait and a doctor comes first
Massage is not medical care: I do not diagnose and I do not replace a doctor’s prescriptions. We move the visit in case of fever and respiratory infection, acute inflammation, thrombosis and thrombophlebitis, pronounced varicose veins in the working area, fresh injuries and fractures, skin infections in the working area, uncontrolled hypertension and ongoing anticoagulant therapy. With a cancer diagnosis I work only in agreement with your treating doctor. Pregnancy is a task for a specialist in that field, and I do not take such sessions. A session is not carried out if you are under the influence of alcohol. Acute pain, numbness or a shooting pain with loss of sensation is a reason to see a doctor, not to book a massage.
Ethics and boundaries
A home visit calls for clear wording on both sides. The rules are simple and not up for discussion — and with them in place both of us are at ease.
- I provide strictly therapeutic massage. Intimate services are entirely excluded; questions on the subject end the conversation before the visit, and on site they end the session.
- The work is done under the sheet: only the area I am working on right now is uncovered. Everything else stays covered. You may keep your underwear on if that is more comfortable.
- Dress and conduct are professional on both sides: working clothes for me, comfortable and covering clothes for you.
- Either side may stop the session at any moment, without giving reasons. The time already worked is paid for; the remainder is not.
- No photographs, no recordings and no talk about your condition outside the session. Information about your complaints is not passed to third parties.
- Another adult being present in the apartment is entirely fine and does not get in the way of the work. If it puts you more at ease, let them be there.
If you can still breathe, the pressure is right. When the breathing breaks, that is no longer patience but protective tone: the muscle answers the pressure with resistance, and the point of the work is lost.
Ale
Payment and cancellation
The price of the session and the zone surcharge are named before booking. The sum is not recalculated on the doorstep — not for the floor you live on, not for the traffic, not for the door taking longer to find.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Booking a visit | Outer zones, the suburbs and late slots are confirmed with a small deposit for the travel. It covers the journey, not the session, and is deducted from the final sum. |
| Cancelling in advance | Free of charge, within the window I name when I confirm the booking. The deposit is either returned or moved to a new date — your choice. |
| Last-minute cancellation | The travel deposit is not returned: the slot was held and was not offered to anyone else. The price of the session itself is of course not charged. |
| Nobody answers the door | If nobody opens at the address and there is no way to reach you, the visit counts as a completed journey. This is the one case where I am not prepared to accommodate. |
| The client is late | The session ends at the planned time: the next address is already in the schedule. The shortened time is paid for in full. |
| I am late myself | I add the missing minutes to the session where that is possible, or recalculate the price. I warn you in advance, not after the fact. |
| Payment | After the session — cash or bank transfer. A receipt and confirmation of payment are provided on request to {{EMAIL}}. |
If your plans change, simply write to me. Rescheduling without explanations is taken as normal: the schedule is a living thing, and an honest message always beats silence.
What people ask before the first visit
Short and to the point. If your question is not here, write to {{WHATSAPP}} and I will answer before the booking, not after it.
A session at your address: what it costs
The price of the session plus the surcharge for the zone. You learn both figures before booking — nothing is recalculated on the doorstep.
60 minutes
One goal per session: the neck and shoulders, or the lower back. A format for maintenance rather than a first acquaintance with deep work.
55€
per session- A walk-through of the complaints and short movement tests
- One area: neck and upper back or lower back and glutes
- Table, linens and oil are mine
- A plan for the first day after the session
90 minutes
The standard format for a visit. Enough time for the assessment, two neighbouring areas and an unhurried finish to the session.
85€
per session- A full assessment and a look at how your trunk moves
- Two neighbouring areas: the lower back, quadratus lumborum and the glutes, for example
- Layer-by-layer work with pressure kept at 6-7 out of 10
- A look at everyday causes: how you sit at your desk, sleep, train
- Homework — two or three movements, not an hour-long routine
120 minutes
For outer zones and for people whose tension is spread along the whole posterior chain — from the suboccipitals (mm. suboccipitales) down to the gastrocnemius (m. gastrocnemius).
105€
per session- The entire back of the body in sequence, with nothing skipped
- Separate time for the thoracic spine and the front of the shoulder
- A slow pace: the layers open gradually, with no forcing
- A detailed plan for the next two or three weeks
| Travel to Area Metropolitana de Barcelona | 100€ | A fixed surcharge on top of the session, identical for every address in the zone. In central Barcelona travel is included in the price. |
|---|---|---|
| Visit to a hotel or apartment | 100€ | Work in the room is agreed with reception, and I can work in English. |
| Early or late slot | {{PRICE_NIGHT}} | Outside 09:00–21:00, arranged the day before. For guests who have just flown in this is routine. |
| Two people at one address | 140€ | The sessions run one after the other, not at the same time: one table and one therapist. Travel is paid once. |
| Express session | {{PRICE_EXPRESS}} | Only as an addition to a main session at the same address. It is not carried out as a visit on its own. |
| Package of 5 sessions | 250€ | Makes sense when there is a goal that spans several weeks. The travel surcharge is counted for each visit separately. |
A package of 10 sessions costs 450€. All prices apply to addresses in Barcelona and do not depend on the floor, the elevator or the time spent on the road. I name the final sum in writing before the booking.
In a forward bend the thoracolumbar fascia is taut and easy to read. This is the sheet that carries force from one glute across to the opposite latissimus. Thoracolumbar fascia (fascia thoracolumbalis) · Latissimus dorsi (m. latissimus dorsi) · Glutes (mm. glutei) · Hamstrings (mm. ischiocrurales)
Let me check your address and find a time
Send me your district and a convenient window — I will tell you the travel zone, the final sum and the nearest free slot. If the address is too far, I will say so plainly and offer you the studio at Balmes 200. Contacts: {{PHONE}}, {{WHATSAPP}}, {{TELEGRAM}}, {{EMAIL}}.
